Recently, we shared how our Chimpr plugin, designed for our local Pontiac newspaper The Equity, is helping national newsrooms like The Hill Times reach their readers. Today, we are bringing that same power home to help local government in our area.
We are thrilled to announce that Chimpr has officially rolled out for the municipalities of Pontiac Ouest, including L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, Chichester, Sheenboro, and Waltham.
Staying Informed Just Got Easier
In a busy world, it’s easy to miss a social media post or forget to check a website for the latest town hall updates. We wanted to bridge that gap. By integrating Chimpr into the municipal websites that have been designed by Calumet Media, we’ve made it possible for residents to receive vital information exactly where they’re most likely to see it: their inbox.
What does this mean for you?
- Daily Automated Public Notices: At the end of each day, the system automatically bundles any new notices and sends them directly to the subscriber list. It’s a clean, organized way to stay updated without cluttering your inbox throughout the day.
- Breaking News Alerts: Life happens fast. Whether it’s an urgent road closure, a weather advisory, or a last-minute community event, the municipalities now have the “breaking news” capability to send instant updates when timing is everything.

One of the best parts of this rollout is the flexibility. We know that many of our neighbors have ties to multiple towns—maybe you live in Sheenboro but work in L’Isle-aux-Allumettes.
Residents can sign up for their specific municipality individually, or choose to stay in the loop with all four. It’s entirely up to you.
