The QCNA (Quebec Community Newspapers Association) just released the finalists for their 2026 awards, and we’re doing a bit of celebrating! The Equity has picked up 12 nominations across the board — from hard-hitting news and agricultural reporting to the visual storytelling that brings our pages to life.
Who Is the QCNA?
In a province as vast as Quebec, local journalism is the glue that holds smaller communities together. The QCNA acts as the backbone for English-language publications, ensuring that stories from the Ottawa Valley to the far north don’t just get told, but are held to a professional standard that earns the trust of readers.
Being recognized by our peers at the QCNA is a reminder that the late nights and long drives to cover a local council meeting or a high school tournament actually matter.
